Tropical Storm Hilary is barreling toward Oregon and Idaho after drenching Southern California over the weekend.

The National Hurricane Center said on Monday morning that parts of Oregon and Idaho could face localized but significant flash flooding as Hilary hits the states.

“Across portions of Oregon and Idaho, rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches with local maxima to inches are expected through Tuesday morning,” the hurricane center said in its latest advisory on the storm.

The risks haven’t ended for states already hit by Hilary, either.

The hurricane center warned of “continued life-threatening and locally catastrophic flooding” in the areas already hit.

Flood watches were in effect on Monday afternoon for portions of seven states, including Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Arizona and Utah, according to the National Weather Service. High-wind advisories were in effect for parts of Nevada, Idaho, Montana and Utah.

The movement of the storm towards the Northwest and Mountain West, now classified as a post-tropical cyclone, comes as the region also battles wildfires which resulted in poor air quality in Seattle and Portland in recent days.
