First lady Jill Biden tested negative for COVID-19 on Thursday, her office announced, four days after she tested positive for the virus.

The first lady tested positive Monday night and has been staying at the Bidens’ home in Rehoboth Beach, Del., since then. President Biden has been testing every day after her results and has been negative Tuesday, Wednesday and once more Thursday, just before he leaves for the Group of 20 summit in India.

Jill Biden’s office said there was no further updates to share when asked if she will leave quarantine in Rehoboth Beach. On Wednesday, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the first lady was “doing well.”

On Monday, the first lady was experiencing mild symptoms. She was scheduled to begin the new school year teaching English and writing at Northern Virginia Community College on Tuesday, but she had to work to find a substitute teacher.

The first lady was not expected to travel to India with Biden, but they did travel together to Florida on Saturday and spent part of last weekend in Rehoboth Beach together.

Both Biden and the first lady tested positive for COVID-19 last summer.
